Easy Fruit Snacks for Kids

Apple CoastersWhen trying to get my  kids to eat fruit it helps to be creative. They always want to help in the kitchen so here are some great suggestions I have.

  • Apple Slices

Apples are easy and usually not to messy. My girls really like cutting the apple into slices. We have a slicer and that makes it easy to let them help. The slicer is inexpensive and is easy to clean plus it has two handles away from the sharp parts. My kids then can make their own slices and keep their finger tips safe also.

  • Banana Freeze

Another way we get some fruit and the kids can help is the Banana Freeze. It is pretty simple. Peel the bananas and wrap in freezer paper, then put them in the freezer. After they freeze, about an hour, take them out and put them in a blender. Blend until creamy then pour into a bowl or ice cream cone. Easy and the children can help by pushing the buttons on the blender.

  • Green Smoothie

This smoothie also has a vegetable that my children don’t notice. I think it tastes really good, too.

  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of apple juice
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 cup of  frozen blueberries
  • 2-3 frozen strawberries

We mix all the ingredients together and blend them. Simple easy way to get a healthy dose of fruits and veggie.

Getting your own kids to eat right isn’t hard when you do fun foods and let them help. Besides, you will be eating better, too, and setting a good example for your children.
